Where is Stephen Carr now?
Former Premier League defender Stephen Carr retired from playing at the end of the 2012-13 after five seasons playing for Birmingham City.
Starting his professional career as a 17-year old with Tottenham Hotspur, he went onto make 500 first-team appearances over a 20 year period, winning the League Cup with Spurs in 1999, the UEFA Intertoto Cup with Newcastle United in 1999 and the Carling Cup with Birmingham City in 2010.
He also represented the Republic of Ireland on the international stage winning 44 caps and was unlucky to miss out on the 2002 FIFA World Cup finals due to injury.
Upon retiring from playing, Birmingham City offered Carr to stay on in a coaching capacity but he declined the offer and moved to Spain where he could concentrate on his business ventures.
He is currently a major shareholder in the Sala Group with former team-mates David Bentley and David Murphy which own a range of high-end bars and beach clubs in Marbella, Spain.
