David Bentley

Where is David Bentley now?

A career which promised so much came to end in 2014 when David Bentley announced his retirement at the age of 29.

In an honest assessment he said that he had fallen out of love with the game after he failed to find form after a big money move from Blackburn Rovers to Tottenham Hotspur in 2008.

Despite ending his football career early he still made 267 first-team appearances for seven top-tier sides as well as representing the England national side from under-16’s all the way up to the senior side where he won seven caps.

During his time as a player Bentley invested in the La Sala group which own a number of restaurants and beach clubs along the Spanish Costas. Upon retiring from playing he moved his family out to Marbella so that he could have a more hands-on involvement in the running of the business.

At the start of 2017, after spending three years in Spain, Bentley and his young family moved back to the UK so that he could have more involvement with the Chigwell branch of the La Sala chain as well as the other business interests he was involved in.
