Where is David Bentley now?
A career which promised so much came to end in 2014 when David Bentley announced his retirement from the game at the age of 29.
In an honest assessment he said that he had fallen out of love with the game after he failed to find form after a big money move from Blackburn Rovers to Tottenham Hotspur in 2008.

Upon retiring from playing Bentley moved his family out to Marbella in Spain where he invested in the La Sala group which own a number of restaurants and beach clubs along the Spanish costas.
Bentley’s former Tottenham Hotspur team mate Stephen Carr is also an investor in the group.
The group have also opened their first La Sala restaurant in the UK in Chigwell, Essex and also a yacht hotel in Gibraltar.
During his time in Spain, Bentley also worked with his interior designer wife Kimberley refurbishing houses.
In 2015 Bentley featured in a job-swap documentary for an Irish television station where he trained and played with a Gaelic football side.
He did very well, scoring three points in a game and impressing some of their more die-hard fans.
At the start of 2017, after spending three years in Spain, Bentley and his young family moved back to the UK so that he could have more involvement with the Chigwell branch of the La Sala chain as well as his other business interests.
One of these businesses is the Stansted-based arm of a bespoke flooring company called GFF Bentley & Howell Bespoke Flooring which supplies and installs high-quality flooring products to residential and commercial customers.
