Where is Stephen Hunt now?

A dominant force on the left side for every club that he played for, Stephen Hunt retired from professional football at the end of the 2015-16 season after a spell with League One side Coventry City.

Making nearly 500 appearances for seven clubs over 19 seasons, he was a Championship winner with Reading in 2006.

He was also a regular starter for the Republic of Ireland national side between 2007 and 2012 winning 39 caps and was also a member of their 2012 UEFA European Championships squad.

Upon retiring from playing Hunt embarked on a number of business projects including an award-winning restaurant called the ‘Tides Gastro Pub’ in Rosslare, Wexford which he opened in 2014.

He also works as head of football operations at IKON Talent Management which is a company that represents elite sports & entertainment personalities.

Hunt has also worked in the media for Irish television broadcaster RTE as a pundit and match analyst and also writes a regular football column for the Irish Independent, which he has been contributing to since 2014.

Not ruling out a return to the game, he is currently working towards obtaining his UEFA coaching badges.
