Where is Rob Jones now?
Former Liverpool defender Rob Jones, regarded by many fans as the best outfield player to have never scored a goal for the club unfortunately had to retire from the game at the early age of 27 after a succession of knee injuries.
Starting his professional career in 1987 with Crewe Alexandra, he went onto make over 250 first-team appearances over a 12-year period for three clubs winning the FA Cup in 1992 and the League Cup in 1995 with the Reds.
On the international front, he played for the England national side on eight occasions between 1992 and 1995.
In retirement Jones has focused on his business interests and alongside his wife own a string of children’s nurseries in the UK and in Bahrain.
He has also spent time coaching and mentoring alongside Steve McManaman at the Liverpool academy with their under-18 and under-21 sides.
