Olivier Bernard

Where is Olivier Bernard now?

A persistent hip injury meant that Olivier Bernard’s playing career was cut short in 2008 during his second spell at Newcastle United at the age of 28.

Despite having to finish his football early he still racked up over 150 first team appearances for four clubs including brief spells at Darlington and also in Scotland with Rangers.

Upon retiring from playing Bernard joined up with the Show Racism the Red Card charity which educates people against racism across the UK.

In December 2013 Bernard bought non-league side Durham City and installed himself as chairman before stepping down in 2019 due to and increase in his day-to-day work commitments.

He now works for the club in an advisory capacity.
