Where is Martin Laursen now?
An Aston Villa legend and former club captain, Martin Laursen was forced to retire from playing in 2009 at the age of 31 after a number of knee problems.
A rock at the heart of the Villa defence alongside Olof Mellborg, Laursen could have undergone another major operation but opted to hang up his boots instead.
Although he didn’t win any silverware during his time at Villa Park. Laursen had previously enjoyed success at AC Milan where he won the Serie A title, the Coppa Italia, UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup.

Upon retiring from playing he worked as a pundit on Danish television station TV2 for Champions League and Danish national team matches.
He also spent eight months gaining coaching experience at Danish third tier side BSV (Sollerod-Vedbaek).
However, Laursen left the club to concentrate on bringing up his small children, but he has vowed to return to the game in a coaching capacity at some point in the future.
