Where is Jose Antonio Reyes now?
Jose Antonio Reyes was a classy left-winger who played for Arsenal between 2004 and 2007 who tragically died in a car crash in 2019 at the age of 35.
Coming through the youth ranks at Sevilla, he went onto make 685 first team appearances for nine clubs over 20 seasons including spells in China and Portugal.
He won a number of trophies over his illustrious career including five Europa League titles (three with Sevilla and two with Atletico Madrid), the La Liga title with Real Madrid and the Premier League title and FA Cup during his time in England with Arsenal.
He also won 21 caps for the Spain national side and was a member of the squad which went to the 2006 FIFA World Cup finals in Germany.
In January 2019 Reyes returned from playing in China to join Spanish Second Division side Extremadura UD where he made nine appearances before the season finished in May.
A month later, he tragically died in a road traffic accident after his back-left tyre burst whilst travelling at 116mph.
The accident happened on the day of the UEFA Champions League Final between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur who observed a minute’s silence before the game.
