Where is John Scales now?

Part of the “Crazy Gang” at Wimbledon, John Scales retired from playing in 2001 after a brief spell at Ipswich Town.

Starting his professional career in 1984, he went onto make over 450 first-team appearances for six teams winning the FA Cup with Wimbledon and the League Cup with both Liverpool and Tottenham.

He also represented the England national side on three occasions during the Umbro Cup in 1995.

Since retiring, he has been heavily involved with the reborn AFC Wimbledon side as well as the Football Foundation where he works in an ambassadorial role.

He also works as a sports consultant and regularly commentates on Premier League games for BBC Radio 5 Live.
