Where is Jack Collison now?
A versatile midfielder who could play in the centre or out wide, Jack Collison unfortunately had to retire in February 2016 at the age of 27 after suffering from persistent knee injuries.
Spending most of his short career at West Ham United, Collison made 105 appearances between 2007 and 2014 and also represented the Wales national side on 15 occasions.
Whilst still a registered player at his last club Peterborough United, Collison was appointed manager of their under-21’s side in August 2015 before going onto coach their under-18’s side.
In July 2017, he left to join his former club West Ham United as coach of their under-14’s and under-16’s academy sides before moving overseas to the USA in 2019 to join his current side Atlanta United as an academy coach.
In an interview with West Ham’s official website he said that leaving the club was one of the hardest decisions he had to make but as a young coach he wanted to gain experience of different coaching cultures and environments.
Collison also owns his own football academy which currently operates in the Three Counties area of the UK.
Away from football coaching he has also worked in the media and has appeared as a match analyst and pundit on various television stations including the BBC and Sky Sports.
