Where is Francesco Baiano now?
Regarded by Derby County fans as one of their greatest ever imports, Francesco Baiano retired from playing in 2009 after a short spell as player/manager of Italian fourth division side Sansovino.
During his time at Derby County, he hit 16 goals in 64 appearances and was named as the club’s Player of the Year in 1998.
In a playing career which lasted 25 years Baiano played for 11 clubs making over 550 appearances and scoring nearly 200 goals.
Among the honours he won in the game was the Serie B and Coppa Italia with Fiorentina as well as two international caps with the Italy national side.

Since retiring from playing Baiano has gone into football coaching and linked up with experienced head-coach Giuseppe Sannino as his main assistant at Italian sides Varese, Siena and Palermo.
After two spells with Palermo, the pair linked up once again at Chievo Roma in July 2013 but they left the club after only five months.
In 2014, he joined Serie D side Scandicci in his first appointment as manager but left after a year after a string of poor league results.
A year later, he was appointed as manager of Serie D side Varese, a team which he had worked for before as an assistant but was sacked in March 2017 despite a reasonable mid-table postition.
