Where is Fabrice Muamba now?

A well documented cardiac arrest whilst playing for Bolton Wanderers against Tottenham Hotspur in March 2012 eventually led to Fabrice Muamba retiring from playing five months later after medical advice.

Although his career was cruelly cut short he still made over 200 professional appearances and represented England at all levels up to the under 21s.

In July 2015 Muamba graduated from Staffordshire University with a BA Hons in Sportswriting and Broadcasting. As part of his course he carried out work experience on the BBC North West Tonight television programme.

He has also worked for ITV as part of their team for the coverage of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations tournament as well as a bit of co-commentary for BT Sport.

Keen to pursue a career in football coaching he has been working towards completing his UEFA coaching badges.

As part of the course he took some training sessions at the Liverpool academy as well as spending time coaching the Rochdale under 16’s side.

In 2018 Muamba graduated from Liverpool University with an LMA Diploma in Football Management which is a course designed for football professionals.

He also works for the PFA as a Delegate Liaison Executive.
