Where is Dominic Matteo now?

Having spent a large part of his career at Liverpool and Leeds United, Dominic Matteo retired from playing whilst at Stoke City in 2009.

Since retiring from playing, Matteo has worked extensively in the media on television, radio and also in print.

He also part owns the popular Rock Bar which is situated in Leeds city centre.

In 2011 Matteo’s book was published In My Defence the Autobiography

Due to the book’s success he is now available for private bookings, sports club presentations and question and answer sessions at events.

Matteo also provides management services for players assisting with contract negotiations, career development and club representation.

He has also recently linked up with the West Riding FA with an aim to develop young players in the county.

In August 2015, Matteo was declared bankrupt after racking up £1 million in gambling debts including betting £100,000 on a single horse.

In July 2017 Dominic Matteo represented Scotland in Star Sixes, a six-a-side indoor international tournament at the O2 in London featuring some of the world’s most iconic footballers.
