Dave Kitson

Where is Dave Kitson now?

Ex Reading striker Dave Kitson retired from playing in 2015 after a brief spell at non-league side Arlesley Town where he was also working as player-assistant manager.

A tall, strong and clever player, Kitson was an integral part of the Reading side that reached the Premier League from the Championship in 2006 with a huge 106 points.

Although he scored an impressive 12 goals in 47 games during his time at a stuggling Reading side in the Premier League, a move to Stoke City never worked for him and he never rediscovered his goalscoring touch.

Since retiring from playing, Kitson has largely stayed out of the public eye although he is often seen watching Spurs, the team he has supported since he was a boy.

However, in April 2020 he launched his candidacy to replace Gordon Taylor as the next Chief Executive of the Professional Football Association.

Kitson is rumoured to be The Secret Footballer, the pseudonym of a former Premier League footballer who used to wrtte articles for the Guardian newspaper and is the author of five books:

The Secret Footballer: Access All Areas,

The Secret Footballer: What Goes on Tour,

I Am The Secret Footballer: Lifting the Lid on the Beautiful Game,

The Secret Footballer’s Guide to the Modern Game: Tips and Tactics from the Ultimate Insider
