Darren Bent

Where is Darren Bent now?

Former Premier League striker Darren Bent finally hung up his boots in July 2019 having spent a year out of the game after getting released by Derby County at the end of the 2017-18 season.

Starting his professional playing career at Ipswich Town having progressed through their academy system, Bent went onto make 568 first-team appearances for nine different teams (including six Premier League teams) scoring 217 goals.

A prolific striker at every club he played for, his most prolific spells were during his time at Charlton Athletic between 2005 and 2007 where he was scoring a goal every other game and also at Sunderland in 2010 where he scored 24 Premier League goals.

On the international scene Bent represented England on 13 occasions between 2006 and 2011 and was unlucky not to make the 2006, 2010 FIFA World Cup squads as well as the 2012 European Championships squad despite his good form.

Upon retiring from playing, Bent has moved seamlessly into the broadcasting world and currently works as a pundit for radio station talkSPORT as well as appearing as a regular contributor on Sky Sports.
