Darren Ambrose

Where is Darren Ambrose now?

A versatile player who could play in a variety of midfield positions, Darren Ambrose retired from playing at the end of the 2015-16 season after a season playing for Colchester in League One.

Most of his playing career was spent in the Championship with Crystal Palace and Ipswich and during his time with The Eagles he scored a wonder goal against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the League Cup which former United defender Gary Neville said was the best he had seen from a visiting team in 20 years.

Upon retiring from playing professionally, Ambrose opened a barbers shop in Ipswich with his best friend.

The shop is called Mr Barbers and is part of the national company but Ambrose and his friend hold the licence for their Ipswich shop.

He has also retained his affinity to his former club by signing up as one of the Ipswich Town academy sponsors.
