Where is Simon Barker now?
After a 17 year playing career, 10 of them at Queens Park Rangers, Simon Barker finally hung up his boots in 2000 after dropping down the leagues and playing with Port Vale.
Starting his professional career at Blackburn Rovers in 1983 he went onto make 619 first-team appearances for just three clubs.
A PFA delegate at all of the clubs he played for and a member of their management committee for five years, Simon Barker joined the organisation on a full-time basis when he retired.
Barker is now assistant chief executive at the PFA, Trustee of the Professional Footballers’ Pension Scheme and is also a director of the Professional Players Federation and Sports Dispute Resolution Panel.
