After a 17 year playing career, 10 of them at Queens Park Rangers, Simon Barker finally hung up his boots in 2000 after dropping down the leagues and playing with Port Vale.
A PFA delegate at all of the clubs he played for and a member of the PFA’s management committee for five years, Simon Barker joined the PFA on a full time basis when he retired.

Simon Barker is now assistant chief executive at the PFA, Trustee of the Professional Footballers’ Pension Scheme and is also a director of the Professional Players Federation and Sports Dispute Resolution Panel.
