Where is Mike Sheron now?

After a 15 year career playing at all levels of professional football, Mike Sheron retired in 2005 after a short spell in non league football with Warrington Town.

Scoring goals at every club he played for, Sheron hit the back of the net 152 times in 571 appearances including 24 in 46 games for Stoke City in the 1996/97 season.

Upon retiring, Sheron went into football coaching and joined Bury as their youth team manager in February 2007.

He stayed with Bury for three years before pursuing other coaching roles including a 10 month spell as under 15’s coach at Oldham Athletic.

In July 2011 Sheron was appointed as under 13’s academy coach at Liverpool where he stayed until 2013 before joining Rotherham United as the head of their academy coaching.

Sheron left his role at Rotherham in March 2015 and joined Blackburn Rovers as their Lead Youth Development Coach and under 18’s assistant manager within their academy.

His son Nathan Sheron has followed in his father’s footsteps and is currently plying his trade in the lower leagues with Fleetwood Town.
