Where is Danny Higginbotham now?

An integral part of the Stoke City team which firmly established themselves in the Premier League, Danny Higginbotham retired from playing in March 2014 after spells with Chester and Altrincham.

Starting his career at Manchester United, he played for 17 seasons, making over 400 appearances for 11 clubs including a spell in Belgium with Royal Antwerp.

He also qualified to play for the Gibraltar national side through his maternal grandmother and made three appearances for them.

Since retiring from playing Higginbotham has established himself in football broadcasting with regular appearances on PLTV, talkSPORT, BBC 5 Live, BT Sport and Sky Sports.

He has also turned his hand to writing and has written an autobiography Rise of the Underdog: My Life Inside Football as well as writing columns for the Stoke Sentinel newspaper, The Independent and the Manchester Evening News.
