Where is Tony Dorigo now?

Former Premier League defender Tony Dorigo retired from the game at the age of 35 in 2001 after a season playing in the old Second Division with Stoke City.

Starting his professional career in 1983 with Aston Villa, he went onto make 641 first-team appearances over an 18-year period for six clubs including a spell playing in Italy with Torino. He also played for Chelsea where he won the old Second Division title in 1989 and Leeds United where he was a member of the old First Division title-winning side of 1992.

Despite having no English parentage, he represented the England national side on 15 occasions and was included in the 1988 UEFA European Championships and 1990 FIFA World Cup squads.

Since retiring from playing Dorigo has been working as a pundit and commentator for TV channels such as ESPN, BT Sport, Al Jazeera and beIN Sports and he also spent three years working as a pundit and co-commentator for Absolute Radio’s popular ‘Rock and Roll Football‘ show.

Away from his broadcasting work he has been involved in a variety of business interests and ambassadorial roles including a company that works with independent and international schools in China and India, a football commercial consultancy and a body cryotherapy company.

He also spent seven years working as business development director for his wife’s skin care distribution company Skin Matrix Ltd.

When he is not commentating he works as a club ambassador for Leeds United and can often be seen within their hospitality suites.
