Thomas Gravesen

Where is Thomas Gravesen now?

Former Everton midfielder Thomas Gravesen retired from playing in 2009 after getting released by Celtic.

Starting his professional career in his native Denmark in 1995, he went onto make 441 first-team appearances for five clubs including spells in Germany with Hamburg and Spain with Real Madrid. Often regarded as a player who was bad tempered and reckless he was actually very skilful and a great passer of the ball.

On the international front he represented the Denmark national side on 66 occasions and was a member of the squad that played in the 2000 and 2004 European Championships and the 2002 FIFA World Cup.

Upon retiring from playing, Gravesen invested his career earnings in a number of small financial businesses which have amassed him a fortune of over £100 million.

Moving to Las Vegas in 2012 he became a regular player on the high-roller poker tables and legend has it that he lost $54 million in one sitting eventually winning it back and leaving with $80 million in his pocket.

He has apparently now moved back to Denmark.
