Where is Oyvind Leonhardsen now?

After nine years playing in English football, Leonhardsen returned back to Norway and retired at the age of 37 after a season at Stromsgodset in 2007.

Starting his playing career at Molde in 1989, he made over 450 first-team appearances for eight teams including four in the English Premier League (Aston Villa, Wimbledon, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur).

He was also an important player within the successful Norway national side of the 1990’s making 86 appearances and representing them in the 1994 and 1998 FIFA World Cup finals.

Upon retiring from playing, Leonhardsen went into coaching and spent time working as a youth coach at Lyn Fotball before joining Norwegian top-flight side Stabaek as an academy coach.

Since 2018, he has been working as assistant manager at Norway Eliteserien side Mjondalen where he is working towards obtaining his UEFA Pro license.
