Where is Olivier Dacourt now?
Leeds United favourite Olivier Dacourt retired from playing in 2010 after a six-month spell playing in Belgium with Standard Liege.
Dacourt was also a fan’s favourite during his time at Everton but left under a cloud after becoming disillusioned with the club’s lack of ambition and what he claimed were a string of broken promises made by the management.
Returning to France with Lens, his impressive performances for the club earned him a move back to the Premier League with the Elland Road side who paid a club record £7.2 million in 2000 for his services and helped the club secure a top four finish in the Premier League and a Champions League semi-final in his first season.
Playing for 18 seasons, he went onto make over 400 first-team appearances winning the Serie A title twice during his time at Inter Milan as well as the Intertoto Cup and the French League Cup with Strasbourg.
On the international front he played for the France national side on 21 occasions and was a member of the squad which won the 2001 and 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup.
Upon retiring from playing professionally, Dacourt returned to France and started a new career in broadcasting, firstly with RMC Radio and then on television for French channels Eurosport and Telefoot.
He spent five years working for Eurosport before leaving in 2016 to join French channel Canal Plus where he is currently one of their leading pundits.
Alongside his media work, Dacourt has also completed a diploma in professional sports club general management.
In 2016 the New York Times revealed that Dacourt was one of a number of investors who successfully sued Donald Trump after a deal to open a luxury hotel project in Lower Manhattan called “Trump SoHo” never materialised.
