Where is Ledley King now?
Considered one of the Premier League’s finest defenders, former Tottenham Hotspur captain Ledley King retired from playing in 2012 after an injury-plagued career restricted his appearances.
A one-club man, he made his professional debut with Spurs in 1999 and went onto play 323 competitive games over 13 seasons winning the League Cup with them in 2008. Adored by the Spurs faithful and sympathetic to his injuries they often used to chant to the melody of ‘Que Sera Que Sera’: ‘Oh Ledley, Ledley, he’s only got one knee, he’s better than John Terry, Oh Ledley Ledley’.
On the international stage he represented the England national side on 21 occasions and represented them at the 2004 European Championships and the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Upon retiring from playing he released his autobiography King: My Autobiography and also had a spell as a part-time coach of the Spurs under-18s team. Unfortunately he realised that he taken on too much too soon after retiring from playing and stepped down from his role after only a short time.
In 2012 he started working for Spurs as an ambassador representing the club worldwide and also within the local community.
At the end of the 2019-20 season, King moved from his ambassadorial duties to a coaching position within the club when he was added to manager Jose Mourinho’s backroom staff as first team assistant coach. However, when new manager Nuno Espirito Santo joined the club, King returned to his ambassadorial role and started working towards completing his coaching badges.

#One2Eleven
Ledley King was a guest on Sky Sports programme The Fantasy Football Club in February 2013 where he picked the eleven best players he had ever played with in their #One2Eleven section of the show.
GK – Heurelho Gomes – this will surprise some people but he is a great goalkeeper that can make saves that other keepers can’t.
RB – Stephen Carr – fit and strong and could get up and down the wing. At one point in my opinion one of the best in the league in that position until he got injured.
CB – Michael Dawson – another top guy and an under-rated player. He can play and has got good feet on him.
CB – Rio Ferdinand – played with him for England. A real footballing centre-half. I loved the way he played.
LB – Ashley Cole – I grew up with him, For me he has been the best England player in the last decade. One of the best and consistent left-backs of all time.
CM – Edgar Davids – his best days had gone when I played with him but he had a great mental toughness and an inspiration for the younger players. A great professional too.
CM – Paul Scholes – couldn’t get near him as he moved the ball so quick. Always one step ahead.
CM – Steven Gerrard – an all round complete midfield player. The ultimate box-to-box player.
LM – David Ginola – I used to watch him as a kid in training and he was unbelievable. Big, strong and could deliver with both feet.
Striker – Gareth Bale – I always knew he would be a world-class left-sided player. The way he has adapted his game is remarkable.
Striker – Robbie Keane –another great footballer. Under-rated lad who scored loads of goals
