Where is Ian Woan now?
Former Nottingham Forest left-winger Ian Woan retired from playing in 2004 after a spell in the United States with Syracuse Salty Dogs.
Starting his professional career with Forest in 1990 at the age of 22, he ended up making over 300 first-team appearances for seven teams including MLS sides Columbus Crew and Miami Fusion.
Upon retiring from playing, Woan returned to the UK and joined Swindon Town as a youth team coach before joining Paul Hart as assistant manager at Rushden & Diamonds in 2006.
He then had a brief spell coaching at former side Nottingham Forest before joining Portsmouth as their under-18’s coach in July 2007 working his way up to first team coach in 2010.
In 2011, Woan joined Watford as Sean Dyche’s assistant manager but left when new owners came into the club and appointed former Chelsea player Gianfranco Zola as manager.
The following year he joined up with Dyche once more as his assistant manager at Burnley where he stayed until April 2022 when he left the club following Dyche’s dismissal.
He made a return to football in January 2023 when he linked up once again with Sean Dyche after he was appointed manager of Everton
