Where is Georgi Kinkladze now?

One of the most skilful playmakers to have appeared in the English Premier League, Georgi Kinkladze retired in 2006 after a season playing for Ruben Kazan in the Russian Premier League.

Starting his professional career in 1989, he went onto make over 400 appearances for eight different clubs including Argentinian giants Boca Juniors, Dutch side Ajax and Cypriot side Anorthosis. He also played for Derby County and Manchester City in England’s top league winning Player of the Year awards at both clubs.

On the international scene Kinkladze was the stand-out player of the Georgia side of the late 1990’s and early 2000’s making 54 appearances and scoring eight goals.

Since retiring from playing he has been involved in a variety of business activities including working as a football agent in Russia specialising in players from the English Premier League.

He also spent time as sporting director of former club Anorthosis who play in the Cypriot league.

Kinkladze also owns a chain of leisure centres across Europe as well as a number of vineyards in his native Georgia where he produces and exports white and red wine as well as prosecco and whiskey.
