Egil Ostenstad

Where is Egil Ostenstad now?

A fan’s favourite wherever he played, Egil Ostenstad retired at the end of the 2005 season after a short spell playing back at his first club in Norway.

Starting his professional career in 1990 he went onto make 412 first-team appearances over a 15-year period for five clubs including Viking where he won the Norwegian Premier League title in 1991.

On the international stage he played for the Norway national side on 18 occasions and was a member of the squad which went to the 1998 FIFA World Cup finals.

Upon retiring from playing he joined former side Viking FK as director of football where he stayed until 2011 before stepping down to just a board member role.

After working as a private banker for Norwegian financial services company DNB he now runs Erling Haaland’s investment company in a finance director role working alongside former international team mate Alfe-Inge Haaland.
