Where is Dion Dublin now?

After a 20 year career in the game former Premier League striker Dion Dublin hung up his boots in 2008, after spending two seasons in the Championship at Norwich City.

Making his professional debut at Cambridge United as a 19-year old, he went onto make over 600 first-team appearances for 10 teams winning the Premier League with Manchester United as well as the Scottish Premier League with Celtic.

He also represented the England national team on three occasions in warm-up games for the 1998 FIFA World Cup finals but didn’t make the final 22-man squad.

Since retiring from playing, Dublin has worked extensively in the media and makes regular appearances as a football commentator and pundit appearing on Sky Sports, BBC Radio 5 live and BBC One’s Football Focus amongst others.

He has also been part of the presenting team of the hit BBC One daytime show Homes Under the Hammer since 2015.

Dublin is also an amateur musician and invented a percussion instrument in 2006 called “The Dube“. This portable drum has been used and endorsed by a number of high-profile musicians including Courtney Pine and Thomas Lang.

He also released a World Cup song for England in 2014 called ‘Winner in You‘ and released a charity album called ‘Dion Dublin’s Christmas Presents‘ in aid of the The Bobby Moore Fund.

#One2Eleven (4-4-2 Formation)

Dion Dublin was a guest on Sky Sports programme The Fantasy Football Club in September 2014 where he picked the eleven best players he had ever played with in their #One2Eleven section of the show.

Dion Dublin One2Eleven

GK – John Vaughan – a keeper who I played with at Cambridge United. He was incredibly important and never let us down.

RB – Mark Delaney – the kind of people that would never let you down. Ryan Giggs says that he was the only right back that he never got the better of.

CB – Gareth Southgate – what a leader and a captain. The only person I still call “skipper” when I see them. I never saw him have a bad game.

CB – Gary Pallister – the best player I played against. Never got past him and never scored against him.

LB – Denis Irwin – anyone who has played with him would put him in their team. The most reliable footballer the Premier League has ever seen and brilliant with both feet.

RW – David Ginola –  when he was on song he was unplayable. You never knew which way he was going to go and very hard to mark.

CM – Bryan Robson – very hard to fault him. A leader and goalscorer who could pick out a pass. A genius.

CM – Paul Merson – some of the skills, passes and goals that he scored, I hadn’t seen anyone do that before.

LW – Ryan Giggs – the best left winger to have played in the Premier League and one of the best ever in world football. I have never seen anyone run as fast as he could with the ball.

ST – Darren Huckerby – when I played with him at Coventry he was the player who made me look better than I actually was. We had an incredible partnership and he knew my game so well. We played together for five years and during that time I made the England squad.

ST – Ian Wright – he talked me through the game when I made my England debut. I was so nervous he guided me through it.
