Des Lyttle

Where is Des Lyttle now?

Nottingham Forest’s preferred right back during their spell in the Premier League in the mid-nineties, Des Lyttle retired from playing in 2011 after dropping into non-league football with Tamworth.

Starting his professional career in 1992 with Swansea City, he went onto make over 300 first-team appearances for six clubs winning two promotions to the Premier League with Nottingham Forest and one with West Bromwich Albion.

During his time at Tamworth, Lyttle was appointed player-manager after a spell as caretaker manager, but he quit the club only six months into his tenure after a disagreement with the board over their decision to bring in an advisor to assist him.

After a short period out of the game, he joined Hucknall Town as manager in 2011 but left after just one season when the club decided that they needed someone with more experience of non-league football.

A seven month spell as assistant coach at York City preceded his current role as director of football at Thomas Telford academy in Shropshire.
