Where is Dennis Wise now?

After a long, successful career spanning 20 years, Chelsea legend Dennis Wise played his last competitive game whilst at Coventry City in 2006.

In the latter years of his playing career he started to get involved in the managerial side of the game, firstly as player manager of Millwall, then brief spells as manager at Swindon Town and Southampton.

In 2006 he was appointed manager of Leeds United but left in 2008 to join Newcastle United as an executive director.

Unfortunately this role was ill-fated and he left the club in 2009.

Wise is currently on a break from the game but occasionally appears on shows such as Sky Sports News.

Dennis Wise’s son Henry Wise who went up with his dad to collect the FA Cup trophy in 2000 is currently playing for Arsenal within their youth academy.

    I
I remember watching Dennis play 5 a side at our local park in west London. Even then you could tell he was destined for a successful career. We also ended up going to the same secondary school.
After I left school, I didn’t see him until just after Wimbledon won the FA cup in 1988 at his mum and dads pub.
