Where is Dean Windass now?

Dean Windass, a physical, old fashioned centre forward finally called time on his long career in 2009 whilst at Darlington although he did sign for Scarborough on a pay as you play basis in 2011.



Since retiring Dean Windass has worked in the media, mainly for Sky Sports as a match reporter for Soccer Saturday and on Sky Sports Radio. He is also a regular pundit on BBC Yorkshire’s “Late Kick Off”.

In January 2012, Windass admitted that he had attempted suicide twice in one week after battling depression and alcohol.

In March 2013, Windass launched his new soccer school which is based in the Hull area.

Dean Windass joined former club Hull City as an ambassador in January 2015, a role which involves working in the club’s media department as well as going out to local schools and community events

His son Josh Windass currently plays as a striker for Scottish giants Rangers.

In December 2016 Windass was declared bankrupt after he, along with a number of other Premier League players, invested in three film companies which allegedly exploited a legal loophole in the tax code,
